Job Description

***** TERRITORY ACCOUNT MANAGER REQUIRED - MEDICAL SALES / DIAGNOSTIC VACANCY *****

My client, the diagnostics division of a multi national healthcare company, currently has a vacancy available for a Territory Account Manager covering the following geographical area:

SR 2278            Norfolk, Suffolk, Mid & North Essex

SR 2279            Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire

In this interesting role you will have sole responsibility for selling a range of near patient testing monitors and diagnostic testing strips (for analysing blood glucose levels) across both primary and secondary care environments, targeting Practice Nurses, District Nurses, Retail Pharmacies, Diabetologists & Specialist Nurses at hospital level.

As you will be selling diagnostic products, the sales process is very different to that of traditional pharmaceutical sales, in that you will actually ‘close’ the sale and take orders from your customers.  This clearly requires a great deal of confidence and strong business acumen, coupled with solid product knowledge.

Consequently the role will particularly appeal to candidates who love a challenge, relish the opportunity to convert awkward or particularly conservative customers, and would like the satisfaction of seeing immediate result from their hard work rather than waiting for sales figures to come through.  Please note that you must be able to demonstrate your personal sales achievements – whether verbally or through use of a brag file – at interview.

Although commercial awareness is a key requirement for this vacancy, the ability to forge strong working relationships, build rapport quickly with customers coupled with passion and enthusiasm for your product is vital.  Your role will also involve a large proportion of customer training sessions and thus outstanding interpersonal skills are absolutely essential.

Applicants must already be experienced Medical Sales Representatives for this role, whether selling pharmaceuticals, devices, vaccines etc – therapy area is unimportant although clearly knowledge of diabetes related products would be an advantage.  Unfortunately trainees will not be considered on this occasion.

Candidates wishing to apply must meet the following minimum criteria:

·         Experienced medical sales representative with current (or recent) on territory experience

·         Live within the geographical area in question

·         Hold a full UK driving license (with 6 points or fewer, and no previous bans)

·         Be eligible to work in the UK on a full time, permanent basis (no working holiday or student visas please).

In return, you will be rewarded with a generous basic salary (dependent on experience), plus tax free daily allowance, fully expensed company car, laptop & mobile telephone, pension, private healthcare & bonus based on your performance.
